After Tuesday’s March, a video was circulating, showing a young woman saying on behalf of her generation, “we can’t bomb our way to peace and security.” Well, actually we did, in World War II. It was horrible. But it changed Germany. It changed Japan, and it paved the way for an imperfect resolution that made it possible for her grandparents, parents, and her to grow up in peace and freedom - and with the naïve belief that everyone has changed.

It’s making its way around social media here, too. It’s a beautifully done profile of some of the soldiers (doctors, rabbis, psychologists) tasked with identifying the nearly unidentifiable dead. Thirty five days into the war, not all of the 1400 bodies have yet been identified."
