Putting the need to stay in power above what is clearly in the best interest of the country and it's people, and above the fair needs of the brave heroes and their families who sacrifice everything, but instead for a cause that will only create financial doom caused by shameless entitled shnurring freeloaders, and is the opposite of leadership! Their claim that their full time study is what is protecting Israel flies in the face of what is clear in Torah: Moshe to the Reubenites and Gadites when they asked to not cross the Jordan while the other tribes fight to take the land: "Are your brothers to go to war while you stay here? -Bemidbar 32 Parshat Matot. As the late Rabbi Sachs (זייל) stated "Where there is a lack of leadership-where leaders lack the ability to respect positions other than their own, then there is divisiveness, rancor, backbiting, resentment, internal politics and a lack of trust. True leaders are people who put the interests of the group above those of any subsection of the group. Moses succeeds here because he is honest, principled and focused on the common good." Unfortunately, this type of leadership is clearly lacking! Doing the right thing here will go a long way in healing and unifying the Jewish State. ברוך השם!
