Any military operation can be carefully altered if hostages known or found in any area and should be altered to rescue.
But best way to free hostages is destroy Hamas faster than being done period.

Sorry, but the war is not about hostages but crushing Hamas. There are hostages now because of a release of sinwar and other terrorists for Gilad Shalit. No trade, no negotiation but crush Hamas and hopefully free hostages in the process.
Many soldiers have said to not make deals that hurt call Israel for them.
Total sympathy for hostage family's but if they block traffic they need put in jail.
They need to stop their war against Israel instead of Hamas.
I think it’s time for the state of Israel to express to the world the aspirational hope that after the destruction of Hamas, we want to live together in peace and and mutual respect and brotherhood with the Arab Palestinian population. The only path forward is where we accept the situation of equality, where neither side is trying to dominate the other. I envision a confederation of two separate states, one the Jewish state which would be 80% Jewish 20% Palestinian Arabs, this would exist in the pre-1967 boundaries. The other state would be the Arab Palestinian state which would be 80% Arab Palestinians in 20% Jews. The state would encompass the West Bank in Gaza., the sellers would stay where they are in the West Bank . This confederation of these two states would be part of the new nation where there was complete equality and a bill of rights to assure this there would be Arab Jewish integration in all
Elements of a functioning society, of education,judicial and military and civilian bureaucracies. I think it’s time for some vision of the future to be presented to the world, so that both peoples do not continue down the path of self-destruction and living in a constant state of siege. This is dehumanizing everybody .
With this vision, we can legitimize the extent of the destruction and less of life that has taken place.
