Altering our original plans, today we're taking a look at a few of the numerous fronts on which the battle against Israel's delegitimization is being waged. It's rough going, and we're not winning.
There is no precedent for this defensive war which is being fought under a microscope by unsung and unfairly maligned heroes who are held to a standard that no other army has ever been held to. Rabbi Ingber is right - the lens through which world leaders perceive the war is perverted and as in other battles in Jewish history, there is no choice but to fight or face extinction, and not just in Israel. No matter the numerous and unfair UN resolutions nor the morally confused politicians, absurd student activists or preening NGO leaders,WE MUST WIN THIS WAR -- on the battlefield and in the hearts and minds of ordinary people not obsessing about Jews — to save our civilization, humanity and way of life.
"IDF Chief Herzi Halevi, who was furious over mistaken WCK killings, decides to reprimand head of IDF Southern Command, Division 162 commander, Nachal Brigade commander. Halevi also fires Nachal Bde chief of staff, and brigade fire support officer." It appears that the IDF Chief of Staff does not quite agree with you.
Enough caring what others think, even Israelis. It’s an existential WAR. If their critique is, Israel is not executing the perfect, collateral-less WAR, so be it. 2 goals, eradicate Hamas and bring the hostages home (by eradicating Hamas). Nothing else matters, nothing.
I love Douglas Murray and he's brilliant in this exchange. I would note, though, that he's being interviewed by a correspondent for a South African television station, not by Al Jazeera.
And I don't disagree, but it was a horrible mistake that absolutely should not have happened and the reverberations are already visible. The fact that WCK was under Israel's security only makes it worse. At no time have I said or believed that Israel isn't fighting an existential and necessary war.
Mistakes are made in every war. Senseless loss of life occurs. However, with Israel always in the crosshairs, there is no room for the kind of mistake that killed 7 WCK workers that were under IDF security. I can't even begin to imagine how this could have occurred. Jose Andres made the best possible statement he could about Israel under the circumstances, but the repercussions are already being felt with President Biden telling Netanyahu for the first time that he wants an immediate ceasefire. While I agree that Israel is always held to a higher standard, this time is different and the cost to Israel will be very high. And I am struggling to think that it is other than deserved here.

Please . . .
Some people are real blabber mouths.
Why do you need to be constantly looking in the mirror. Put your heads down and fight the war.
We’ll have plenty of time for recriminations later.
