how do we reach Revital ?

Revital sounds like a phenomenal teacher. But for those of us English speakers abroad who wish to learn Hebrew, I cannot share enough accolades about an outfit called Citizen Cafe. All Zoom-based, calibrated to specific levels, small groups, dynamic Israeli teachers, and an excellent methodology. Like Revital’s approach, it’s geared towards conversational Hebrew. I am super impressed with how they teach the language. I hope American Jewish day schools and dual language charter schools figure out how to partner with them! Citizen Cafe is excellent. (And I promise I’m not a paid shill!!)

An important post for so many !

I probably learned more Hebrew than most from a 'typical' Hebrew school experience. But I must say, that what opened up the language for me was learning nikkud [all those 'dots']. Once I learned how to put them in, I didn't need them anymore. Then I few years later, I spent a year at Hebrew U.; that filled in the vocabulary for me. That was years ago, so my spoken Hebrew has lagged, but I can still read and write (& my blood pressure goes up when I hear Israelis, even teachers, butchering verbs...).

Thank you so much for this post. As an Olah Chadasha just really starting out on the journey to learn Hebrew, this was most inspiring. Any thoughts about letting it go and getting by in English have been effectively dispelled.
