Yeah, I think it's really a suggestion, which is like, I think while writing it, I understand how impossible and terrible it is to give up my language and to give up my place." So difficult. It was my main consideration in deciding against aliyah-- I could not give up English, which also carries a tradition, of Shakespeare, of the King James Bible and their beautiful sonorous language, at least for one raised in a conventional American public school until recently. Though language was hardly the only consideration.
