Day after day, I find myself asking how it is that so many in the world cannot (or refuse to?) distinguish between the good and unmitigated evil. It should be so obvious.

What kind of freedom fighter sends a little 4 year old girl into a battle zone? I keep thinking that I've reached peak disgust with Hamas but then they go one better.🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱

Horrid

What 4 year old can provide any pertinent information that is remotely useful to either side.. ?. This makes zero sense not to mention highly implausible as anyone who has spent enough time around young children knows.. fake news

Before you start moaning about fake news, and 0 sense, re-read the statement that accompanied it. "It was 2 am and IDF soldiers noticed some suspicious movements in the horizon. In a time of war, that would generally mean to open fire. But the IDF, being the IDF, waited and then noticed it was a kid, a 4 year old girl. She was walking around aimlessly without shoes and with multiple wounds."

The goal was not to interrogate the girl but to see what kind of response her wandering around would bring to determine the presence of the IDF. In this case, the response was the most ethical, bandage her wounds and try to find her family.

So what you are effectively saying is that the IDF is in the habit of shooting young defenceless injured children otherwise Hamas wouldn’t have presumed using her as a guinea pig would be of any use intelligence wise. Convoluted logic and critical thinking... but you do whatever you need to make a narrative fit your world view. I’m done here.

Your perspective is at least bizarre and at most, warped.

The post effectively states the IDF, who found the injured four-year-old managed to extract from her information, sophisticated enough to say that she’d been sent by the enemy to spy. do I need to spell out the absurdity of this I guess I do; she was injured, she was FOUR, most likely she was traumatised, it’s highly likely, if she was walking around on her own, that her parents had just been buried under rubble which is why she was on her own. That Hamas are so inept adult manpower, they need a four-year-old to do recon for them.. do I need to say any more of the blindingly obvious? This same benevolent army who has killed many thousands of children in the last few weeks, bulldozed an area of a northern Gaza hospital burying the injured patients alive. What happened on the seventh was appalling and a war crime. What happened subsequent to that judging by the staggering plethora of live footage Is unprecedented in its psychopathic ferocity. This goes against Judaism teachings and long-held values. None of this is good for the security of Israel, its people or frankly the world at large. this is the most spectacular own goal and recruitment success for the enemy.

You're not understanding. Hamas sent the girl to see if the IDF were alert. If Hamas saw that she managed to wander in, then Hamas learns that the IDF is not alert. If the IDF killed her, then Hamas learns that the IDF is alert.

Rabbi Gordis you are the BEST source for Americans to follow what is going on in our homeland.

The greatest mystery which will never be solved is how the entire Israeli political and military establishment allowed a fascist death cult next door to plan a devastating attack, publicly talk about it......and do nothing. Just breaks my heart.

Freedom Fighter? Show me a freedom fighter with ham-ass...NOT one is fighting for freedom. They are genocidal maniacs.

It is time for the Jews to actually BE the Chosen People of God and let Israel shine its light to the world with NO apologies.

I watched the video of the old Hamas operative. His words seem to be very different than the polls which show the vast majority of West Bank and Gaza Palestinians support Hamas actions on Oct. 7th. Can you reconcile?

Thank you for all that you are doing in sharing these videos and stories with translations. We would never easily have access to them otherwise. It's important work.

The tragedy revealed in the interview with the seventy-one-year-old HAMAS agent, is that the biggest victims of ISLAM are Muslims! Unlike Judaism or Christianity, ISLAM produces nothing but more ISLAM. It is a pseudo-religion; because its prime objectives are not concerned with God; but with hating others, and bringing about their destruction. ISLAM needs to be exponged from the Planet. Its existence is an affront to civilised Humanity, everywhere. May the Creator God of Israel protect us all from ISLAM.

Possibly, even likely but he won’t be able to be among Palestinian Arabs after that talk…

I suspect that he's hoping to stay in Israeli detention ; he wouldn't be able to express his hatred of Sinwar back in Gaza, but perhaps now he thinks that he might be safe in the Zionist Entity' hands.

Sinwar resembles an Islamic version of Hitler in his last days in the bunker; raging for final victory in an underground lair ,as his lethal delusions bring death and destruction.

All of a sudden they are the mouse and Israel is the lion?

The Hamas guy in the interview seems so human. It's hard for me to see him as a monster. Anyhow, his claims that the Gazan street does not like Sinwar and Hamas directly contradicts this study https://danielgordis.substack.com/p/the-palestinian-center-for-policy published recently on this blog which says the direct opposite.

No! I'm looking to the time the World awakens to ISLAM, the pseudo-religion: which hates, and wishes to kill, the majority of the people on this Planet: using the 'excuses' provided in the Koran, Sira and Hadiths as 'justification'.

Devastating that a little girl would be sent onto the field of war to draw fire and expose the alertness of the opposition. What absolute cruelty. What puzzles me watching the video of IDF medics treating her is that she doesn't flinch or whimper. Is the clip verified?

Expand full comment

Verified as what? This happened. She's traumatized and in shock, which explains what's essentially her tonic immobility.

As always, thank you DG for bringing us the inside story. Of the plethora of emotions in today's title, I find rage the most salient. With each new death and tragedy, I find the degree of screw up by the government, IDF and Intelligence branches unfathomable. We let out guard down, and here we are.
